    There are two types of DVDs available, archival (non chaptered) and authored with menus and chapter points. Archival DVDs work just like a VHS cassette in a DVD player. Once placed in the player you can fast forward, reverse, play or pause just like you can in a VCR as well as skipping ahead in 5 minute increments. This is a great way to "archive" your important memories with all of the benefits of DVD mentioned above, including the quality of DVD, but without the extra cost of authoring.

    Authored DVDs provide the benefit of Title pages, menu pages, and chapter points. A title page Introduces the DVD and gives you the choice of simply playing the DVD or going to the menu page where you can select any specific chapter and watch that portion of the DVD immediately. You don't have to fast forward to your favorite section any more simply click on the chapter and you are there.

      Compatibility
      Custom-made DVDs (DVD-R format) are compatible with most DVD players currently available; however, there are a few models of DVD players that are not compatible with this type of DVD. Before ordering, please check with the manufacture/owners manual of your DVD player to verify compatibility.
